Meet Dr. Gibbs

Dr. Chelsea Gibbs is a proud Cape Cod native dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered dental care to the community she calls home. As a co-owner of Avita Dental Associates, she is proud to serve the community where she was born and raised. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire before completing a Master of Medical Science at Tufts University School of Medicine. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

During dental school, Dr. Gibbs was honored with the prestigious American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Student Award and the Women in Dentistry Award, recognizing her commitment to clinical excellence, artistry, and compassionate patient care.

Passionate about continuing education, Dr. Gibbs is committed to staying at the forefront of modern dentistry. She completed advanced training through the Academy of Modern Implant Dentistry and now provides dental implant placement at Avita Dental Associates. Using advanced technology—including 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and the TRIOS® digital intraoral scanner—she can diagnose, treatment plan, and place implants with exceptional precision. This digital approach allows for more accurate treatment, increased comfort, and predictable, long-lasting results.

Dr. Gibbs has also completed advanced training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics in both cosmetic and therapeutic Botox® treatment, expanding the range of services she provides to help patients achieve both optimal oral health and facial wellness.

Dr. Gibbs is certified in nitrous oxide sedation, allowing her to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during their dental visits. She understands that many people experience dental anxiety and is committed to creating a calm, welcoming environment where patients feel at ease.

In addition to implant dentistry, Dr. Gibbs enjoys all aspects of comprehensive family dental care, from preventive and restorative treatment to cosmetic smile enhancements. She believes in combining the latest technology with a personalized, compassionate approach so every patient feels comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their care.

Dr. Gibbs is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. Outside the office, Dr. Gibbs enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. Whether she’s spending time at the beach, boating, or enjoying everything Cape Cod has to offer, she is grateful to be raising her family in the same community she has always called home. Caring for her neighbors and helping local families smile is one of the most rewarding parts of her profession.

Meet Dr. Horton

Dr. Brianne Horton was born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts. She is originally from Lakeville and now resides in Kingston. Dr. Horton has always considered the Cape to be her home away from home, having spent every summer there with her family on Sagamore Beach. Her connection to the Cape has only grown stronger since meeting her fiancé, a Sandwich native. Dr. Horton feels fortunate to now practice in a community that has always been such a special part of her life.

Dr. Horton grew up fully immersed in the field of dentistry, with her grandfather practicing as a dentist for nearly 60 years and her mother practicing as a dental hygienist. This early exposure gave her a deep appreciation for the profession and ultimately inspired her to follow in her family’s footsteps. Both her mother and grandfather formed meaningful, lifelong relationships with their patients, and Dr. Horton hopes to build those same connections with her own patients.

Dr. Horton began her journey to dentistry at Stonehill College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During her time at Tufts, she developed a strong foundation in comprehensive dental care and a passion for creating positive experiences for her patients.

Dr. Horton is certified in nitrous oxide administration and incorporates it into her treatment when appropriate to help ensure that every patient is comfortable. She enjoys the variety of general dentistry and the opportunity to care for patients throughout every stage of their oral health journey, from preventive care to restorative and cosmetic procedures. She believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to dentistry, and values taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, needs, and goals prior to beginning treatment. Above all, she wants her patients to feel that they have found a dentist they can trust and return to for years to come.

Dr. Horton is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. She is passionate about lifelong learning and continuing to grow as a clinician. She stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education courses and strives to provide thoughtful, comprehensive care to every patient.

When away from the office, Dr. Horton enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book, and making the most of her summers on the Cape. She is currently planning her wedding and looking forward to finding a place to call home. This summer, she was blessed with her very first nephew and is enjoying every second of life as an auntie!

Meet Dr. Papapetros

Dr. Nicholas Papapetros is a co-owner of Avita Dental Associates and has been delivering the highest-quality dental care to his community since 1992. He joined New England Dental Partners in 2019 as CEO. In this role, Dr. Papapetros is the chief facilitator for his team of highly skilled, dedicated professionals. He guides change within the organization, while inspiring his staff and challenging them to be introspective to reach their professional goals. With extensive experience in the dental field, Dr. Papapetros brings knowledge that he has gained as CEO of a successful four-practice group and is applying the same basic principles on a larger platform.

Originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, Dr. Papapetros earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He then went on to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his dental degree and student awards from both the American College of Dentists and the American Association of Endodontists. After earning his dental degree, Dr. Papapetros then completed a general practice residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Dedicated to continuing education, Dr. Papapetros completed more than one thousand credit hours in continuing education courses and seminars since beginning his private practice. He has studied at such prestigious institutions as the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. Dr. Papapetros is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Papapetros is past President of the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association and the Merrimack Valley Dental Society. Dr. Papapetros is an active member in many other leading dental and professional organizations, including: International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Massachusetts Dental Society, New Hampshire Dental Society, Merrimack Valley Dental Society, Greater Lawrence Dental Society, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association, and L.D. Pankey Foundation.

Dr. Papapetros loves working with his team and his patients. He is a firm believer in four basic principles: positive, caring, trust, and excellence, and believes in doing the very best and treating others in the way you would like to be treated. Admiring his grandfather, who came to America at the age of 13, his example was one of kindness, love of family, quiet leadership, and hard work. He hopes to continue his experience in the dental field through business classes, organizational management, and team building exercises. In his spare time, Dr. Papapetros enjoys spending time on Fire Island with family and friends, golfing, and watching the newest member of his family, a beautiful granddaughter.

Intraoral Cameras: This is a highly advanced piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you and the dentist to clearly see inside your mouth. The handheld camera can zoom in on a specific tooth, and all of the images are displayed on a television screen so that you can be an active part of your treatment.
Digital Radiographs: This form of X-ray imaging uses electronic sensors instead of traditional film, transmitting images to a computer immediately. It is efficient, comfortable, and highly accurate, and it reduces the level of radiation the patient receives.
